UPDATE

On March 6th the County informed us that CSX had said in the previous week that it was “wrapping up” the initial engineering design and that the work should be completed by the end of that week. When the County sought to get confirmation of that statement, an automated response from the CSX contact person stated that he would be away until March 10th. At this point no further information has been provided by the County other than that the project has been transferred from the County Executive’s Office to the Commissioner of Public Works, Lisa Ramundo, (probably a good sign). Mayor Conway has indicated his interest in us holding a meeting to brief her on the Quiet Zone. At this point, however, with the Covid-19 problem, things are on hold.
