Today there are hundreds of quiet zones operational in the U.S. States with the most quiet zones (16 or more) include: California, Colorado, Texas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois and Florida. See map for new quiet zones by state for 2005-2017.
Quiet zones are operational in the following locations in New York State: Cohoes, Hamburg, Queens, and Camillus. A large quiet zone project is in advanced planning stages in Rockland County.
