As you may recall, in August the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) requested that the County contact CSX to obtain updated engineering information on the quiet zone.
Following the Village Board meeting last month, Mayor Conway heard back from the County that the necessary steps (funding commitment for force account etc.) have been taken for CSX to begin the updated engineering work. The County is following up with CSX as to timeline.
It is our expectation that once the updated engineering information is received by DASNY, DASNY will approve the County’s application for the quiet zone, This will enable The NYS Division of Budget to transfer funding to the County so that it can contract with CSX for the construction work.
