In the spring of 2017 the NYS Legislature approved funding for the quiet zone. In accordance with state procedures, the project was referred to the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) for review and approval. At the Village Board workshop last night, the Board informed us that CSX had completed its quiet zone cost study and returned an estimate of $348,692 for construction and engineering. The Board decided it would be wise to price the project at $400,000 to cover contingencies and other potential costs not yet identified.
